These 3D-printed plugs are designed to fill the open gaps in the door frames of Gunner Kennels crates. By sealing these openings, they help prevent debris, water, and bodily fluids from collecting inside the frame while eliminating spaces where toes or claws could get caught.
Like the rest of our shop’s products, these plugs are designed with durability in mind. Their shape discourages chewing, and the material offers strong heat resistance, making them safe to leave installed in any conditions year-round.
Buyer's should note - there will be some play in the plug once installed. We are aware. It was designed that way. Using the material we use, the plug needs some movement or it will be too difficult to remove once installed. It will not fall out as it is, due to both the pressure of being under the door when locked, and how flush the lip of the plug is to the frame. These features will prevent anything getting caught and flipped out by movement into or exiting the kennel. The door will also be a little more difficult to lock at the bottom latch once installed. While it may be more difficult, locking the door is still possible. The excess padding in the lock additionally benefits owners by reducing door rattle, which is a point of concern for those who have the kennels inside the cab of the vehicle and have them within earshot while driving.
Update 03/28/2026: Some customers with smalls/mediums have noted needing to use a little more force to get their doors shut and the lock engaged after the plugs are installed. This is still considered the item functioning as intended. When strapped down, the smaller Gunner kennels may shift a little, as the load from being restrained may cause the door to shift down and sideways by a degree or two. The material with which the plugs are made is durable and commonly used in mechanical and other industrial applications. It is more than able to withstand the wear of the door opening and closing with daily use.
